Water Ionizer Platinised Titanium Electrode

One of the most important components of an electrolyzer is the water ionizer platinised titanium electrode, which comes in two basic types - flat or reticulated, very simple and smooth flat plate without any texture. It is simply a platinum-plated titanium plate. Mesh plates are available in a variety of designs. These plates start out as a solid piece of high-grade titanium and are then textured in many different ways. Once the plate is "textured", it is coated with a platinum layer. The use of mesh electrodes is based on the conductive layer, which shows that for the same area of coating, a textured metal surface conducts better than a flat metal surface. This is why most of the newer water ionizer technologies now use electrodes with some sort of reticulated design. The coatings are divided into mixed metal oxide coatings and platinum coatings. Typically, mixed metal oxide coated electrodes conduct better and less expensively than platinum coated titanium electrodes, while platinum coated titanium anodes conduct better.
